We now have confirmed sightings of three Loons on the pond! For the last several years guests and members have enjoyed the single
Common Loon that was frequently seen and heard enjoying life on Long Pond.
Loons prefer to nest close to shorelines or on small islands on lakes or deep ponds. They are very sensitive to disturbances, especially during the breeding season. Please keep a reasonable distance (recommended to avoid getting within 300 feet of loon nesting) to allow the Loons to thrive. Or, if a loon vocalizes as you approach, please move away. We are lucky to be able to enjoy them.
